Owned by New York Times bestselling author and story generator, Dhonielle Clayton, Cake Creative endeavors to set a new industry menu and ensure the next generation of readers can find themselves on the shelves and in story.

No. As a content generator, Cake Creative develops and creates new stories, and then sells their intellectual property to publishers or production companies to publish books or produce film/television.

Writers anywhere in their publishing journeys, agented or unagented, are encouraged to submit samples for consideration for our projects.

For unpublished writers, Cake Creative provides a unique way to break into the publishing market. We guide you through the making of a book. If you’re looking for that writerly education, working with Cake Creative is a crash course – you’ll learn about structure and storytelling, edits and revisions, and the publishing process from a New York Times bestselling author and a team that’s been in the business for more than fifty years.

Electric Postcard Entertainment is an multi-media company dedicated to cultivating new talent and producing innovative and inclusive storytelling across publishing, audio, film, and television for the young adult and adult market.

Both brands sit under one umbrella. Electric Postcard Entertainment is the “edgier” sibling to Cake Creative. Electric Postcard Entertainment centers on adult and young adult crossover stories, while Cake Creative continues to focus on launching middle grade stories.

The tastemaker program brings in a group of successful writers who will serve as writer-mentors and generate intellectual property alongside Cake Creative & Electric Postcard Entertainment owner Dhonielle Clayton.
